Washington Fastpitch Academy is excited to announce Coach Ashley Carter has been named the new Director of Softball. Coach Carter brings years of softball coaching experience to the Washington Fastpitch Academy program.  Coach Carter is a graduate of Grambling State University earning her Kinesiology degree (2008) and her Sports Administration Master’s Degree (2010).

Coach Carter began coaching in 2011 as the La Cueva High School head coach in New Mexico, where they reigned as the District Champions and competed in the state tournament, all four years of her tenure as head coach. Players from her program went on to play in Division-I, Division-II and in the NAIA, all while holding GPA’s of 3.6 and above.

In 2015, she joined Menlo College as an assistant coach and quickly graduated to be named the head coach at Notre Dame de Namur University a year later.  Coach Carter returned to Menlo College in 2018 as an assistant coach and also was added to the College staff for two seasons before moving to the Northwest where she was named head coach at Shoreline Community College.  In 2022 Coach Carter was hired on as an assistant coach at the University of Washington where she assisted with the team’s offensive development.

In addition, Coach Carter will be bringing her experience in mental strength training for our athletes. Coach Carter is the owner of LeadHership Athletics, where she teaches female athletes how to become confident leaders through sport.

Her mission in life is to arm athletes, students, teams, coaches, and teachers with the identity, confidence, and mental skills they need to succeed at anything in life, not just the game or society's perception of success.

Lisa Maulden  

Go Time Athletics 

Softball Coach 

​

Coach Maulden is a veteran international softball import player, who first took her career overseas in 2015 to play in Austria. Lisa has played in: Belgium, Australia, Hungary, New Zealand (4 seasons), the Netherlands, Italy (2 seasons), Japan (3 seasons), and Taiwan. Since graduating from Seattle University (DI – WAC) in 2015, Lisa has been contracted overseas on 15 different occasions to play/coach softball. 

​

Coach Maulden has built up a lengthy coaching resume, coaching all ages, has also assumed the role as player-coach during her time with the Budapest Reds of Hungary in summer 2017 and the Crazy Chicklets of Austria in 2015. Lisa also has experience coaching both youth baseball and men’s softball in various countries. Outside of her dedication to her club’s youth program, Lisa has worked within local schools (Hungary, New Zealand, Italy) to increase the knowledge of softball/baseball in the surrounding area.

​

Coach Maulden was a four-year starter with Seattle University (NCAA DI), playing 1st base for 3 seasons and outfield her sophomore season. Over the course of her four years with Seattle U, she amassed 20 home runs, 34 doubles supported by a career batting average of .299. She is all over the school’s record books, including being 3rd all-time in both doubles and home runs. She also served as a volunteer coach within the University – assisting at university camps, working with local little league teams. Coach Maulden is currently one of the Assistant Coaches for Seattle University Softball program.

Softball Hitting/Slapping, Outfield Coach Speed, Agility and Conditioning Coach

Coach Lokey has years of experience coaching at the collegiate level.  Prior to taking the Head Softball Coach position at Edmonds Community College (2019-2021).​ In the 2019 season Lokey  was the Seattle University assistant softball coach (2017-2019) helping them win the 2019 WAC Championship. Prior to Seattle U, Lokey had been the head coach at Chabot Community College (Calif.) from 2013-2017.

 

While at Chabot, her best season came in 2015-2016 with an overall team batting average of .330 and a .703 winning percentage.

The Eugene, Oregon, native started her college playing career in 2007-2008 at Mt. Hood Community College. In 2008-2009, Mt. Hood would become NWAC Champions while Lokey earned First Team All-Conference and NFCA All-American honors.

​

Lokey then transferred to the Academy of Art University to continue her playing career. Lokey holds the school's record for highest batting average at .437, slugging percentage .668, and on base percentage .528.   While at Academy of Art, Lokey earned PacWest Academic All-Conference Team (2011, 2012), All-PacWest 1st Team (2010, 2012), NFCA All-Region 2nd Team (2010), nine Player of the Week career selections (2010, 2012), and three PacWest Weekly Top 10 selections (2012).

​

Coach Lokey has a Masters Degree in Sports & Exercise Science. and runs our speed, agility & conditioning program and is available for private hitting lessons.

Coach Maggie Gallagher, graduated and played softball at University of Washington. 

 

Her freshman year Coach Gallagher played in 20 games and finished the season with a .250 BA. Sophomore year she finished the season with a .356 BA with 4 doubles and 8 RBI's. 

 

Raised in Seattle and played at Kennedy Catholic High School as a senior, Coach Gallagher was named the 2017 Gatorade Player of the Year, batting a .714 BA with 17 home runs.  Coach Gallagher won back-to-back Seamount League MVP with a .719 batting average along with 42 runs scored and 34 RBI in her junior campaign.  She helped the Lancers to a league title and was named a MaxPreps 2015 Small Schools All-American. 

 

Coach Gallagher was twice named to the Seattle Times All-Area team and First Team All-Conference each season.  

​

1n 2022 Coach Gallagher was the Head Coach of the UW Women's Baseball Club Team that went on to win the Collegiate Women's Club Team National Championship.

Coach Izzy Geronimo is A 2012 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Belmont, California.  A four-year varsity softball starter she helped lead the  team to the 2009 CCS Division 3 Championship and Division 3 All-State Championship and 2011 CCS Semi-Finals. She was the Mercury News First-Team All-County in 2009, 10), San Mateo Times Second Team (2009), WCAL Second Team (2009), Palo Alto Times First Team (2010), WCAL First Team (2010, 11, 12), Burlingame All-Tournament Team (2010), Half Moon Bay Tournament Defensive Player of the Tournament (2011),  She was the Daily Newspaper Player of the Year (2011), San Mateo Times Junior Player of the Year (2011), and  San Mateo Times First Team selection(2012).

​

Coach Geronimo was a 4-year starter at Seattle U where she compiled an impressive .320 batting average with 38 extra base hits, 69 RBI's and a 427 Slugging%.

Coach Kyler Tsukada hails from Kapolei, HI where she attended Moanalua HS.  where she was a standout pitcher and hitter.

​

Coach Tsukada was a 2 year starter at Olympic College where she compiled an impressive  .426 batting average, 463. on-base percentage and a 640 slugging percentage. Unfortunately, her career was cut short due to COVID.  She transferred to the University of Washington for her academics.  While at the University of Washington, she was selected to play on the UW Women's Club Baseball team where she helped the team win back to Back National Championships. She is currently in her final year at the University of Washington where she will attempt to win their 3rd National Championship.  Coach Tsukada is currently the West Seattle High School Softball Head Coach.

Softball Hitting/Outfield Coach

Coach Alana Aweau is currently the assistant softball coach at Seattle University.  She joined the Seattle U softball coaching staff in the summer of 2019 helping them win its second straight WAC Tournament title in 2021 and returning to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.

​

Aweau played collegiately at San Jose State University and later transferred to play for the Academy of Art University.  In her career at Academy of Art University, she hit .350, scored 75 runs, tallied 91 runs batted in, and finished her career as the program's career home run record-holder (21).

Nicola Simpson

Head Pitching Coach

Coach Nicola Simpson was a 2-year player 2021-2023 at the University of Tennessee appearing in 25 games recording 3 starts with 38 innings pitched, 4.42 era, with 18 career strikeouts and finishing with a 3-0 record with .

​

Coach Simpson completed her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in Hispanic studies in just 2 years at the University of Tennessee. 

2023 CSC Academic All-District, 2022 Easton/NFCA Scholar Athlete and 2021-22 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.  She has moved back home to Seattle to attend Seattle University where she is earning her Master's Degree and playing softball for the Redhawks

​​

​Coach Simpson attended Garfield High School where she played softball for three seasons amassing a 25-3 record with 498 strikeouts, 14 no-hitters, and a 0.80 career ERA.  Named Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for the state of Washington her senior season.  Tabbed a Premier Girls Fastpitch (PGF) All-American in 2021 and represented the West in the East vs. West game

Recorded a 0.44 ERA with 135 strikeouts in 47.2 innings pitched with five no-hitters her senior year 

 

Coach Simpson was also a prolific hitter with a  batting average of .778 a .867 on-base percentage and a 1.444 slugging percentage in 2021.  Along with her sister Kaia, she helped lead Garfield HS to a Class 3A state title in her sophomore season in 2019.  Took home All-America honors from MaxPreps as a sophomore, posting a 9-1 record with a 1.04 ERA and 190 strikeouts in 80.2 innings.  One of two freshmen to be named first-team all-state by the Washington Coaches Association in 2018

Went 10-1 as a freshman with a 0.77 ERA and 173 Ks

 

A dual citizen of the US and Canada Coach Simpson  was a member of the Canadian National Team after attending the WNT Selection Camp in June 2022 and went on to pitch for the Canadian National Team at the 2022 Celebration Tour,  Canada Cup, and World Games

Kelli Suguro

Coach Suguro played at the University of Washington where after her freshman year became a 3 year starter at second base.   In her Sophomore year she was the 2nd base starter in their run in the 2013 Women’s College World Series where they fell just 1 game short of making it to the Championship game.

​

By the end of her college career Coach Suguro was awarded the NFCA Division I All-Pacific Region 2nd-Team Selection, 3 Time All Pac-12 Honorable Mention, 3 Time Academic All Pac-12 Honorable Mention, Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention, and made the ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays of the Night during the 2013 Women's College Super Regionals with an incredible defensive play.

 

Coach Suguro was a standout athlete at Kentridge High School where she finished her high school softball career as the schools all-time leader in most hits, runs scored, doubles and assists. She was the 2007 and 2008 Kentridge HS Defensive MVP ,2007-2010 SPSL All-League Selection, 2009 and 2010 Kentridge HS Team MVP, 2010 Seattle Times All-Area Team, 2010 Tacoma News Tribune All-Area Team, 2010 SPSL Pitcher of the Year, and 2010 All-State selection.​

Coach Mead was a 4-year starter at Bradley University (2019-2022) holding down spots at shortstop, second base and outfield.

​

While at Bradley University, Coach Mead earned First-Team All-MVC honors her senior year, was Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week: 05-11-22 & 03-24-21, was an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete: 2021-22, made the MVC Honor Roll: 2021, 2020 & 2019, Bradley AD Honor Roll: Fall 2019, Fall 2020, Fall 2021 & Spring 2022.  Coach Mead ranks sixth in Bradley University school history with 104 career runs and 40 stolen bases and owns a 14-game hit streak that tied for the fourth-longest hit streak in program history. Coach Mead also made the ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays with a leaping catch at shortstop.

​

Coach Mead attended West Seattle High School where she earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior after hitting .662 with a .742 on-base percentage and 1.323 slugging percentage.  Coach Mead was a three-time first-team all-metro honoree.  Had a .625 batting average with an .830 on-base percentage her junior season. She earned first-team all-conference shortstop honors in her junior and sophomore years.  Was a first-team all-division performer at second base during her freshman campaign. Coach Mead helped the Wildcats to a conference championship as a sophomore along with a pair of state tournament appearances.

Coach Bolasky, is currently a Edmonds CC assistant coach. Bolasky graduated from Seattle University in 2018. Her senior year Bolasky made 47 starts in centerfield, making 55 total appearances and set a single-season school record with 27 stolen bases. Bolasky also scored 27 runs, posted five multi-steal outings, including a career-high four stolen bases vs. Southern Utah on March 2, logged pair of three-hit contests, going 3-4 against Southern Utah (March 2) and vs. Montana (March 3).

​

In 2017 Bolasky hit .336 in 48 appearances. and stole six bases, second-most on the team, ranked fourth with 45 hits, scored 21 runs, added three doubles and a triple, tallied 14 multi-hit games (second-most on the team), including three-hit showings against Sacramento State (2/25) and at Hawaii (3/3), notched a six-game hitting streak from 3/5-3/17, served as team's primary leadoff hitter, starting 36 games in the top spot in the order.

​

Bolasky played two seasons at Lower Columbia College where she hit .473 with 69 stolen bases and 88 hits as a sophomore and was named NFCA First Team All-American, During her freshman season, Bolasky batted .370, scored 45 runs, and stole 37 bases.

​

Bolasky holds both the All-Time Individual Single Season Record for stolen bases (27) at Seattle University and the Division 1 Individual Single Season Leader in Stolen Bases (27) While at Lower Columbia Bolasky holds the record for most steals (69) Most at Bats (186) and 2nd Most Hits (88).

Coach Kia Simpson, graduated and played baseball at Garfield High School in 2021 where she helped the Bulldogs win a state championship title in 2019.  Coach Simpson earned MaxPreps Second Team All-American honoree, Top-20 MaxPreps National ERA Leader (0.34), Washington Coaches' Association and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 3A Player of the Year, WIAA First Team All-State, Scorebook Live First Team All-State, 2019 Seattle Metro Conference Club 101 Award winner, She was also Named to the Seattle Times and Star Times All-Area Softball team in 2018 and 2019, Seattle Metro Conference MVP her junior and senior seasons. She won Garfield HS MVP three consecutive years and led the Bulldogs to a 2019 Metro League Championship and Washington 3A State Championship

Coach Simpson attended and played for the UC San Diego Tritons having a great career as a 4 year starter.

​

Coach Ree played and graduated with a sport and exercise science degree from Seattle University. and is one of our speed and conditioning coaches. The Gresham, Ore., native was an All-WAC Second Team selection, starting all 57 games at second base for the Redhawks. In Ree's senior year she helped lead the Redhawks to their most successful season in program history, winning the WAC regular season and tournament championships and qualifying for their first Division I NCAA Tournament. Ree hit .337 to go with five home runs and 10 doubles. She homered in the final at-bat of her career, setting the school's career runs record (123).

​

We are honored to have Coach Ree at Go Time Athletics. Coach Ree is one of our speed and conditioning coaches and is also available for private hitting and fielding lessons.

Young Beginners Program

Go Time Athletics

​

Go Time Athletics also has a number of Top High School, College level players & past Coaches that are available for providing lessons and instruction for the younger and less experienced players.

​

This allows young players to receive great instruction at greater savings.

Lessons are only $55 plus tax an hour per player for a 2 to 4-on-1 lesson.

$200 plus tax per player  for 4 SESSION Package

​

We have coaches available in baseball, softball, and volleyball to instruct on the fundamentals on specific positions.
